There is all over craquelure to the lacquer at a little loss to corner edges
I believe seal as well
in a vintage Pennsylvania-style painted solid wood frame wired for hanging
beautifully executed large one features a four mast ship with tiny American flag flying at the stern end
even more of a feat to manage a whole stretch of them backwards
Elsie Zimmerman's Sweet Bird (Blue Flycatcher?) Watercolor, PA, c. 1930s vintage parquetry blocks There is all over craquelureOne of two watercolor birds by the same young Elsie Zimmerman whose watercolored color chart I've also listed today. I'll never say no a naive bird drawing of this sort no fuss, just good, and this one feeling quite tender to me. I'm not a bird expert; an image search suggests a Hill Blue Flycatcher? Whatever the case, this particular bird feels very gentle:) 9 1 8" x 6", very good condition, c. 1930s I believe.
