which has the great effect of conflating the nipples here with the pupils of the eye and imparts the sense that they might just be staring back

I'd just be a little gentle with it as the paint will still flake a bit

I am guessing product of the weight of the lid being a bit too much for the tiny hinge to take

This wooden one I love for being just what it is and needs to be just three pieces of wood and a whole bunch of nails, but which manage to form a vivid thing, which in some child's imagination surely embarked on all sorts of sea adventures.
