Description
This is the first year with puncheons (no hogsheads) as well
Clos de la Baronne and Luraule plus the usual declassified juice from young vines Genevrières and Charmes)
Medium to deep garnet in color
There is a really lovely texture to the utterly delicious and solidly concentrated medium weight flavors that possess the innate class of a fine Puligny while displaying even better depth and persistence on the well-balanced finale
it should also be reasonably approachable young
de Montille, Pommard Cras other_regions This is the first year(from ~80 year old vines; 33% whole clusters). A mildly fruity nose is cut with plenty of freshly turned earth and more discreet floral wisps. The brooding, intense and muscular flavors possess very fine volume as well as a discreet minerality that continues onto the serious, persistent and balanced if decidedly rustic finish. This borderline old school effort is sufficiently firmly structured to suggest that all of a decade will be necessary for it
