This very attractive antique Chinese porcelain elephant is hand painted in the Canton famille rose palette, and profusely gilded throughout. The elephant having a Gu form candleholder, decorated with a famille rose design and having a gilded rim, below is a caparison (an ornamental covering over a saddle) also decorated in the famille rose palette. The elephant is
